The movie Frankenstein is VERY close to the novel. Unlike other "books to movie" films Frankenstein stays true to the tale. Victor is made to seem more social in the film, which is one of the few differences in the film. The movie captures the horror in Mary Shelley's book, Frankenstein.
Rpbert Deniro (The Beast) stars in "Meet the Fockers" and "Limitless", Helena Bonham Carter (Elizabeth) stars in "Harry Potter" and "Sweeney Todd". These were great choices for the film because they both have a "creepy" factor about them. These characters were dressed more gothically than I thought they would be. In the film the characters are meant to have more of a "chill factor" to them, to set the mood of creepiness.

Frankenstein is indeed a classic, you can tell by it's characteristics. My novel includes themes that are ALWAYS going to be around. These themes include love, which both the monster and Victor want. The monster wants any kind of love he can get, he feels alone and depressed, feelings that everyone will have at some point. Victor wants to be happy with the girl he loves, another common feeling in people. Another characteristic in Frankenstein is death, this bring out all kinds of feelings in people.
The deaths in Frankenstein even cause Victor's father to pass away from grief. Another classic characteristic that Frankenstein has is that it is timely. Frankenstein shows the time period that it was written in, the language is Victorian and flowery, representing the Victorian era.

The main character in my novel is Victor Frankenstein. He starts off as a positive, social boy who wants a good future. Victor was raised in Geneva, Switzerland with parents who were important to society. He eventually moved to college where he lost everything, and became obsessed with science. His personality starts to change for the worst, he stays indoors all the time working on projects and loses his social life. Victor's life slowly deteriorates and once he creates a monster he becomes ill from a mixture of shock and his depressing life. Once the monster starts killing Victor's family his personality changes even more, he becomes vengeful and obsessed with getting revenge on the monster. At the beginning of the story Victor runs away from the monster (his problems) and towards the end he starts to seek the monster out.
I would not like to be friends with Victor Frankenstein because he is mostly self deteriorating and runs away from his problems instead of trying to fix them. He becomes obsessed with things too easily thus making his life miserable. He also doesn't fit in with society because he is so awkward. He spends all of his time in morgues and indoors alone that he doesn't know how to handle life anymore.
My character has to make the decision to create or not create a female companion for the beast he has created. He chooses to stop half way through and demolish the girl monster and perhaps saves himself a lot of trouble. But because he does this the consequences are his wife gets killed by the beast. Everything Victor does has a major consequence on his life and it all leads back to the theme. Victors actions get him big consequences and the more he disregards the monster's feelings the more

My author wrote Frankenstein. In this book she uses First Person, i can tell this is first person because she uses words like "I" and "my". She also uses Flowery Description an example of this is "One of the most intimate friends was a merchant, who, from a flourishing state, fell, through numerous mischances, into poverty." This is very descriptive and extended, this makes it flowery descriptive. She uses realistic dialogue, which means that the characters talk like real people. She uses a form of chronilogical order. The story is told to Captain Walton to his sister from Frankenstein. At one point the story is told from the monster to Victor to Walton to Waltons sister. The genre of this story is science fiction, Mary Shelley used elements of "magic" and creation. The theme of the story is "mankind shouldn't mess with the natural order of the earth." I like this theme because it is something people do far too often and need to learn to not do.
I think that the style that my author used was a bit "dry". At the time this style was very popular and everyone read it. I enjoyed the author's themes of feminism in the story, she killed off all of the weak women. I think she should have added more scenes where the monster was around and included the monster more and Victor less. The style didnt really fit with the genre and plot of the story because it was a scary plot and the style was slow paced and boring.
